Murder Mystery Dinner Fundraiser

It’s 1920 and you are a passenger on the Iron Range Express. During
the evening, one of the passengers is MURDERED! Listen carefully,
investigate and observe the crime scene and take notes. We need
your help to catch the crook! Either play a part or watch from the side. Dinner will be provided and cash bar available. $80 per person. RSVP strongly encouraged, please call at 218-254-7959.

Due to safety reasons, all guests must enter through the St. Louis County Fair entrance. MN Discovery Center guests do not need to pay for fair parking. Inform the parking attendants that you are coming to the MN Discovery Center and they will show you where to go. Signage willalso be available to guide you to our parking lot.

Hummingbird Guide Kids' Poetry Contest

For kids who are between the ages of 6-12, you are invited to enter this kids' writing contest. Simply write an original poem about hummingbirds.  The winner will receive a kit to build a hummingbird feeder from recycled materials.  Contest deadline is September 30, 2014.

Patriot's Pen Essay Contest

This annual writing contest for kids in grades 6-8 who live in the USA is now accepting entries for its 2014-2015 contest.  This year's theme is "Why I Appreciate America's Veterans".  Contest deadline is November 1, 2014; grand prize winner will receive $5000.

RESIST provides grants to small organizations to support initiatives to promote social change, particularly on issues related to social, economic, and environmental justice.

Lorrie Otto Seeds for Education Grant Program

Project examples include wildflower gardens with a habitat for butterflies or other pollinators, rainwater gardens that capture run-off and feature native plant communities, and groves of trees or native shrubs that support birds and other wildlife.
